About the Event
It’s election season, and besides your vote, there are many underutilized paths to be a responsible citizen for peace—from mobilizing your neighbors to engaging candidates and elected officials. In this presentation, Dr. Elliot Ratzman will help you map ways to make change through the power of networks, small groups, and smart planning. Where do elected officials and candidates stand on issues? Why do they take those positions? How do they change their stances? There are ways to make an impact beyond and before the voting booth—we will give you the tools to take the first steps. Dr. Ratzman will narrate stories of policy change, profiles in principled influence, and ways in which we can all create a constituency for peace and have elected officials respond to our issues.
